The good news -
I should have a signed purchase agreement on the house in town
within 24 hrs or so.
The bad news
I see it more as I had to pay someone to buy the house.
I am more than a little sick about what this has come to.
MORE than a little.
The good news is
the farmhouse is darn near livable.
As we speak, a new electric water heater is being installed.
Well pump has been fixed,
water lines have been blown out
so upstairs bathroom has water.
Drip in upstairs tub has been fixed
as well as flapper in toilet.
All we need now is living room carpet.
The bad news is,
we still have to find something small to rent in town
so the girls don't have to change schools,
or not yet anyway.
I have always known if the town house sold
I would just be trading out one set of problems for another.
But, focusing on the long-run and the bigger picture
this is what needed to happen.
So I am trying to be thankful and joyful.
And as soon as I get done being dissapointed and mad
I will be.

It is a miracle I think. This is what you have wanted for so long! You finally are out from it! Love, sandie
Ugh. Glad it sold, but sorry it brings new weight to your thoughts.
That's the kind of thing you just have to get behind you and let go of or it will eat you up. Try to get out and play with your goats and work in the garden, remind yourself of what really matters.
one step closer to the end dream. i know it's rough, though.
There's always a catch isn't there! When we moved here I had over a 3 hour commute every day for 10 weeks so my oldest could finish out the school year, we got through it though. Best of luck with all of the upcoming changes:@)
No simple solutions, but you are a step closer to your dream. Good news.
Bless your heart. I am happy and sad for you too. I know how hard this is but one day...hopefully not too far off...it will all be worth it. I admire you!
Hang on in, all will get better in time, enjoy your chickens, garden and all else, and I am so sure the right house in town will just "SHOW UP" at the right time.Nothing worthwhile is achieved without effort, pain and perseverence. Do not know who said that but maybe they are right.Cheers from Jean
Would your girls be able to go to their school if they drove themselves there? I would rather buy a car than pay rent if that is something they could do that is. Glad you sold your place. I've never sold a place before so I have no idea what you are supposed to do either.
Try and focus on the fact that your one step closer to living fulltime at your farm with your critters!!!
Congrats on being closer to your dream!

Any change is bittersweet, isn't it? I love your farm living though.
Keep focused on your goals and it will out be golden in the end.
Oh I feel for you! I hope you can just remember where all this is taking you. You are closer to your dream now.
Blessings,
Kay
Take a breath and try to let it go. It is what it is... and its done. Look forward -- you are so good at that. I can't wait for you to be living on the farm!
First: Congratulations! That's huge. Selling anything now is so hard, I'm thrilled for you. You will soon be able to live your dream.
Second: Try to let go of those feelings, if you can. I know it's hard, though.
Back in 2008, my husband lost his job. We had lived in a large-ish house in a suburban area. It was expensive, but with his salary, it was easily affordable. When he lost his job, we could no longer afford it and had to sell as quickly as possible. We did sell, but for less than we bought it for, and we lost (my guess) approximately $100,000 in the transaction, between money spent on improvements and just the cost of the house alone. That hurt, and I was angry for quite a while about it. We could have used all that money. But we lived to fight another day.
Try to look at it that way, if you can. You are getting out. It could have been worse. It's not ideal, but try to look ahead of you, not behind.
I wish you luck, my friend.
Such a huge splay of emotions for you. It will all come together as it should in it's own time. You have met your largest hurdle in getting that signed paper for you house in town. The rest is all down hill now. You 've got this Michaele. (((HUGS)))) and strength sent your way.

I'm glad you were finally able to sell the house in town but sorry it wasn't for what you wanted. It sounds as though the farm house is coming together nicely and you ARE getting closer to your dream! :)
Buying and selling and moving is always such an unsettling time. I hope that soon you will all be snug in your little farmhouse and enjoying that peaceful life there.
Hard notto be disappointed when something doesn't begin to meet our expectations. But wow--you're so much closer now to living on teh farm full-time. That's awesome! Hope all flows smoothly from here, and that you're home before you know it!
I'm happy for you... I know in the long run yall will be happier at the farm full time, I'm excited and its not even me, lol. Stinks about the problems but dont let them rob you of the joy. When do the girls get out of school for summer?
Sorry that didn't go well, but it's over now and water under the bridge. Rejoicing that your farm home is nearly ready!
if its any help..I bought a lottery ticket today and if I by odd chance Ihappen to ever win a large pot..Your on my list of honest, hardworking, devoted and deserving folk who'll get a nice sum to use any.way.you.like! Take care
Would a cheap apartment be available where you are? Just a thought.
Glad there is an end in sight for your house in town; sad that you had to come to it this way. Don't let it eat at you; all your furry friends and your girls...they'll all make it worth it. :)
