My Backyard

Tess gets all the fun.
It is her that has made the paths through the wooded
part of our acreage.

Normally I avoid this area
because there soon will be too many ticks
to even consider walking here.

But I look forward to this time of year
when these weeds flowers bloom.

No amount of ticks will stop me from this walk.

There are butterflies everywhere.

I love knowing I can take a nature walk
and not even leave home to do it.

Tess made me laugh. Her happiness and excitement are obvious to one and all, even with her back to us. Gotta love her!

Gorgeous! I'm with Tex, looks kinda like a tall phlox. As for the ticks, horrible little creatures! Glad Tess is having fun:@)

Absolutely beautiful! I love the purple flowers. Such a gorgeous path. We have paths all over our property. Some are from the dogs but most are from the deer.

Gorgeous!!! I was curious too if that was phlox, but it is awfully tall.

Sulfur powder around the ankles (not directly on skin) works fairly well to repel ticks.

Yes, I've already picked off a tick this year.

Your backyard is gorgeous! I would be walking it daily and those farmer lilacs are way ahead of us. How can just a few hundred miles make such a difference? I LOVE the smell of those flowers too, just like lilacs.
