Saint Patty's Day Finds

Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something:
the first is for hope,
the second for faith,
the third for love
and the fourth for luck.

In honor of St Patrick's Day,
I wanted to show you what I found

Garlic growing in the garden.

I know I didn't leave it there to go to seed,
so these must be from what we left behind last year.

Same with the onions.
It is so fun to find that nature
really didn't need my help.

Last week the grass was brown,
by next week we may be hauling out the mowers.

Be still my heart.
The elderberry trees survived the winter.

None of that green beer for me though.
I'll stick with Sam.

How are you celebrating today?

My chives are about 6" and rhubarb is up. Glad your elderberry trees are greening up! Green Miller Lite for the pudgy chick from Philly-Happy St. Patty's Day:@)

We are celebrating - with corned beef, potatoes and carrots for dinner. Beer bread instead of beer. Does that count?

I love all your St. Patrick's Day finds... pretty cool post. I spent the day with my goats & my neighbors goats (walked to their barn 4 times today, lol)

yep, Spring has sprung, in most of the country! Hopefully it won't get a rude shock, but it's not impossible!

I love volunteer plants and spring! We celebrated by putting of a fence around the vegetable garden to keep the goats and chickens out. I'll blog about it in a few days. Hope you have a great weekend.

Love your volunteer garlic and onions, it's like a bonus!!
It looks as though you need to get your lawnmower all tuned up and ready to go!
We will have our corned beef and cabbage tomorrow when hubby's mom comes to visit but I did manage to sneak a Guinness this evening! ;-)

Our garlic and onions are up too. The fruit trees are starting to bloom -- whoa, so early!

Nothing special for St. Pat's.

We have old fashioned walking or eqyptian onions, I imagine traveled over on the Mayflower. The top drop and reseed the onions every year.

When we dig garlic, there are always a few bulbs that return in the spring.

Good to know things resupply.
