What's there to do on a rainy holiday off work?
Well, you can whip up some bread dough,
but that's a lot of work.
So after that,
why not start your herbs indoors?
I like to use the pods for herbs.
Then, for even more fun. you can
make your own herb markers.
All you need is a Steel Stamping Set,
a hammer, some washers and a black sharpie.
Make sure you lay the washer on a hard cement surface.
Place the stamp where you want it,
and hit it hard a couple of times.
Then trace over the letters with the Sharpie,
give it a few seconds to dry
and then rub off the excess marker with a damp rag.
Oh - but don't stop there : )
So
much
fun.
Along the subject of seeds - did you know that Clint Baker over at The Redeemed Gardner is having a seed give-away? He would love for you to stop by and leave him a comment. The seeds are from Botanical Interests, which is the same place that the herb seeds in my photo above came from. He has LOTS of useful and practical advice for gardeners on his blog.

I love these! What a great idea. Thanks for sharing these. I'll go check in on Clint.
Those are so cute! I wish I had a steel stamp set now. Are they expensive?
Those are so cute! I like how you can do that at home, instead of having to go out and buy the markers.
Good Morning Michaele! I have always wanted to do something like this for my garden but have never gotten around to it. These are really cute! I just checked on Ebay for metal stamp sets and they aren't too bad a price so I may just have to buy myself a set and have some fun! Thanks for the inspiration :)
Well I didn't know there was such thing as a steel stamp - but I want one. Gosh you did so MUCH work! Wonderful. Where did you get the pods from? Sandie
