Winter Sunshine

No time like the present

to train the goats to the milking stand,

as it doubles as a hoof trimming stand.

I believe this girl thinks her name is

Haulda Waters.

Nothing like a nice cabbage for lunch.

The chickens just crave greens this time of the year.

I hope you are all
finding reasons to be outdoors
this winter.

Looks like a miniature cow stanchion. Our weather is sunny here, too. This is the time of year for blizzards, but where are they?!

We took a walk the other day, because it was so beautiful and sunny outside! Hardly feels like winter.

I never realized they had to have their hooves trimmed!

Too funny! At least you still have a little snow on the ground. I may be Haulda Waters today, watering the spruce. :)

Where did you find a cabbage at this time of year? And one that you can feed your chickens even. I have said it a zillion times (well, maybe not that many) that chickens will eat anything. But they really do appreciate fresh greens in the winter when everything is dead.

you just reminded me why I love goats so much! They show their joy and love their humans..you captured it perfectly! I will be purchasing some cabbage tomorrow..what a good idea you shared there.

That's a really nice milking station you have there! I'm wondering if I should get the cabbage out of the trash that I put in there tonight when I made slaw and toss it to my neighbor's chickens when I drive by? You know how you take off the first few leaves off the head of cabbage. That's what it is.

32 years ago we had a baby girl that would not respond to any formula that we gave her so, we bought a goat. A stand like yours would have made my life much easier. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :-)
