Pay It Backward

Did you know McDonald's has 39 cent
hamburgers every Sunday?
Or should I say - does your dog know?
Mine does.

I stopped by there on my way home from the
farm tonight.
Limit 5.

Okay, one for each of us tonight,
then two more left over for tomorrow,
since I will be putting in a long day water sampling,
the dogs can have an extra treat.

When I got to the window and tried to pay,
the girl said
"The police officer in the car in front of you paid for yours."
I asked why and she said
"Because the car in front of him paid for his."
I said "Well then, how much is the order for the car behind me?"
She said it was $5.61.
I didn't hesitate, I just said "Okay, I will pay for theirs then."

That was gratifying, interesting and fun.
I love random acts of kindness.
I would have liked to find out how long that went on.
I don't care if I paid a dollar for my 39 cent burgers.
There is always next Sunday.

While The Girls Are Away...

 A trip to the library
and I didn't make it past the "new arrivals".

For the girls - only 50 cents for the bundle.

A trip to Walgreens.
Dark chocolate for me,

treats for the dogs,

something for later,

I may need it,

and something for lunch.

Hey - I've got a lot to do before I meet up with that
book and bottle.

What did you do today?

A Better Way

Our chemical-free flea control is working.

And the animals

don't mind

a bit.

They like it when it is their turn.

Even if she pinches a little.

Yes, this is a better way

to make the fleas go away.

 Head

to toe.

New Light

Thanks to Jimmy John's sandwich shops,
I am encouraged to view my job
as a feedlot inspector, in a
whole new light.

River Walk

The girls I and braved the heat and humidity
and went on a river walk last night.

These are some of the things we saw.

The train blew it's horn for us  :  )

They will be gone for two weeks.
The first day is always the hardest for me.
