Have you seen the movie Pieces of April? (2003)
Not that I strongly recommend it, but it was
in the $5 bin at Walgreen's so I picked it up.
If you did, then you will appreciate the
kick I got out of Rylee bringing me
these turkeys the other day
when we were at Goodwill.
Yep,
same turkeys.
Yep, same price.
I just love life's
funny little surprises.
They show up at the most
unexpected times
and they are
just priceless.
"April and Bobby are unwrapping and cleaning the plates they are planning on using for the dinner. April unwraps a salt and pepper shaker shaped like turkeys and says that she used to have one of these when she was young and that her mom said to not break them because they were worth more than April's life. She asks Bobby how much he got the salt and pepper shaker for and he tells her 50 cents. She tells him that he got a bargain and goes to her room to cry where he later apologizes to her."

Wow! That is something kinda special there. :)
I'm suddenly humming that old Three Dog Night song, "Pieces of April". Haven't thought of it in years!
Haven't seen the movie but got a chuckle at the "hole placement" on the turkeys:@)
Well that was just sad in the movie. I did crack up on the the S&P exit holes on the turkeys!
I LOVE those salt and pepper shakers! I always look for things like that in thrift stores... and the odd thing is, an antique lady told me a few weeks ago that dishes do.not.sell!
i've not seen the movie, but i'd say that's a bit of synchronicity at work!
Those are cool. Nothing like a bargin!
I have not seen the movie, but will add it to my list. Cute turkey shakers. :-)
Neat for the turkey table!
Kinda' made me sad for April but surely her mom paid more for hers than the bargain turkeys. I'm ready for Thanksgiving to be here now.
I'd use those for Thanksgiving... the reference to the movie... how sad.
How great! Love it when stuff like this happens...
I loved that movie so many good lessons for all about tolerance, forgiveness, and love. Mostly what is really important in life. Love the shakers. Cool I love the shaker story. I cried when they talked about it. Powerful deep meaning. B
