I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods. Better than any argument is to rise at dawn and pick dew-wet red berries in a cup. ~Wendell Berry
Great, great barn! You are so lucky to have it......so sad to see so many falling down and no one to save them.....our barn is an old metal Morton.....the original wood bank barn was torn down long ago, before us......we are looking to buy an old barn and have it relocated to our farm.
I love your barn! I have an outbuilding fettish (that sounds nasty, but I can't think of another word)...really, I love old buildings - and the junk inside. :) My friend's husband made a "man cave" for their 3 boys on the top of their old machine shed - the boys love it.
Your farmstead would look right at home here in Iowa. Your kids will have great memories of playing house in the old barn. My siblings and I made "houses" all over our farmstead when we were kids.
What a wonderful barn! You should paint a quilt block on your barn (in all the spare time you have. HA! ) and join the others on the Quilt barn trail. Look here : http://americanquilttrail.blogspot.com/

There is nothing like an old barn to lend charm and character to a farmstead. Yours is enchanting.
