BS

There are a few "un-truths" I have been told
in my time.  And I would just like to
set the record straight.

The first un-truth:

"Don't ever give your eggs away.
You are giving the message that
the eggs have no value".

Just this year alone,
the eggs I gave away
brought me this in return:

One loaf of zucchini bread.
One loaf of banana bread.
One pan of lemon bars.
Two jars of fresh salsa.
A dinner invitation for an
Asian meal.
A big hug for Rylee.
An offer for a ride to church.
And a co-worker offering
to do chores if I go to Wyoming
for Thanksgiving.

The second un-truth I was told was:

"Don't make pets of your breeding bucks.
Feed them, take care of them, but after that,
just leave them alone".

Excuse me?
Testosterone or not
this guy is my baby!

Well, he was my baby.
And I am forever his mamma.

Okay so he stinks a little lot.
Nobody is talking about kissing

or hugging.

But we do
 put on our "Rodeo gloves"
and let him know we still love him,
stink and all.

If you ask me,
he isn't going to feel less of a man
or dominated because his
mamma still pays him a little attention.

That is just pure

.

This is a wonderful post! I grew up in a little town where neighbors shared and helped each other out. I miss it so much. It's nice to know it still exists someplace.

Just love your goat...even if he stinks!

So true, our breeding stock in miniature horses and cattle are just big babies. How can you not love the male who helps make a living?

LOL!! Isn't that the truth. I keep a stinky sweatshirt just for that reason. Now on giving away eggs, I have gotten some really good chocolate cupcakes. Loved your comment on seeing me on a mule, but my mule has 4 wheels as in Kawasaki! And yes they are trained...spoiled...for a bucket. Every last one of them.

Aw, I'm so glad that Stinky still has a Momma that loves him! :-) And it sounds like your eggs have brought you many good things.

We have donated eggs to the shelter for years and that is just fine. Giving away eggs may be the meal that someone has that day.
We love our buck Teddy. He may smell but he is so sweet. I agree most heartedly with you.

We don't have a buck but I totally agree with you anyway. We also give our eggs away.

LOL Loved this post Michaele! I think people appreciate fresh eggs and are very grateful to receive those beautiful YELLOW yolked beauties. It seems to me that you have been 'paid' back in the best way. Are those photo's of your little guy all grown up? If so what kind is he? Love that last photo LOL!
