As you go about getting your farm ready for winter,
don't forget the hoof trimming.
I realize not everyone chooses to hold their goats in their lap
during this process.
If you do, you might also
choose to wear protective hand coverings
Around here we do things our own way.
They think this is fun and no one better tell them any different.
Are you paying attention?
Because we are going to go do the boys now.
First is Ringo
who is our ever-so-patient
little wether goat
And then there is Rodeo.
This may just be will be the very last time I
hold an intact male goat in my lap.
It wasn't exactly a perfume party.
And he wasn't exactly as patient as Ringo.
When it was over,
Rodeo got a nice blue bandana
for cowboying up and gettin' it done.
And I got a shower.

Well it sounded better then trimming sheep feet until I got to the part about Rodeo, stinky!!
So many things this city girl would never even think of... love the shot of the head butting:@)
Yuck! Better try a gas mask next time you have to do Rodeo.
They sure are cute though!
LOL! i can only imagine how rank he could be!!! eek!
I was just thinking the other day that its time to trim. We hold them in our lap as well. So far, they are still small enough for that to work. Not sure I'd want to hold a buck though. Yech!
Love the photos. I think trimming would be so hard! blessings,Kathleen
How did you go from city girl to country girl and knowing all what to do? sandie
You Go Girl.... I had to have The Goodwife come over & trim Tulip & Stars. She made it look real easy too. Your lil goats are so stinkin pretty.
Can't imagine how smelly he was!
The girls are all so cute and amazing all are so good about the trimming! Great post!
Yep.....did our guys this week! We hold them also, although a friend just gave me a milk stand to try and put them on.....our biggest boy is 110lbs and it's getting hard to hold the big guy!
ALl you goaties are so cute, but your buck is sooooo adorable!
Rodeo looks like he is ready for a date. At least the girls didn't want some pink polish.
I am so glad to see you trimming their hooves. It's very sweet. That's how I do it, but I just have 3 young does. What clippers are you using? Mine are not good enough.

OH your goats are soooo cute! Even that ol' stinker Rodeo! With all those goats trying to sit in your lap we might have to start calling you "Heidi".
You girls sure do know how to have fun! Your goats are super cute, and smelly or not, I still want goats in my life!
I guess I didn't realize you had goats. How neat!
You must have started trimming their hooves when they were little. They are very well-behaved (if not sweet-smelling) goaties.
:)
Rodeo looks fairly pleased with his bandana :).
and the adventure continues...............!
I can't believe how friendly your goats are! That's awesome!
You make it look SO easy! For my sheep, I ended up getting a special web chair that fits over the corral rail that you back the sheep into...works sorta ok - but STILL lots of work.
EWWWWWWW! Smelly!
Michaele... when are you doing Goat Husbandry 101 Day??? I'm signing up (and I'm serious, here!)
