Two years ago, when I bought the acreage,
there was a mailbox included in the deal.
Then winter happened.
To be more specific,
the blizzard of 2009 happened.
See the top of the backyard swing set?
Look hard.
We survived this,
but the mailbox did not.
Sorry to say,
no trace of it was ever seen again.
R.I.P
Two years later, I decided I'd replace it.
Hey - I've been busy - alright?
Our friendly rural post office was
very helpful and informative when it came
to this project.
Put 'er here.
Like so.
Okay, how hard can this be?
Post - check,
brackets - check,
old mailbox used 4 months in Aztec, NM - check,
hardware store out of the number zero - check,
black permanent marker - check,
and check.
Set,
(yikes!)
pour,
mix,
wa-lah.
Now all we need is mail.
Write me : )

:) i'm hiring you the next time ours gets bashed again with a baseball bat... 'tis football season, and incidents always pick up on friday nights around here...
I don't think two years is too bad to get the mailbox back up. My wife says I've got projects waiting twice that long ;). LOL!!
Haha... write me! I love it!
I think you did a great job!
Thanks and have a great Sunday
Leontien
GREAT job! I would just LOVE to send you mail if you'd email me your addy. jillymaddy@hotmail.com
=)
Cool! I still have the one my sons (15-ish at the time) put up... crooked, but, the junk mail still makes it in:@)
You did a GREAT job!!! Is there any thing you and your girls can't do?
Great job!!! I recently had to connect one mail box to our existing one...pain in the rear but it's done, painted, numbered and named.
Michaele, I did this FOUR TIMES at my old place, that I had before I married. Mailbox Baseball was the cause of it. I can't help but think the local kids knew I was alone and isolated.... it finally got tiresome replacing them over and over. I set them in concrete each time, too!
I hope it stays standing past the coming winter. Do you still get mail, what's that? :-)
You go girl! You gotter done! And it looks great! Our mailbox was hit by someone and it isn't straight but we don't care and left it that way! lol It also has wasp that keep building a nest in it! lol And it has green mold growing on top of it! And it's rusting. The kids keep saying we need to get a new one. My el cheapo husband probably won't replace it until it is gone! lol We only get junk mail in ours. We ended up getting a post office box because neighbors were complaining that someone was stealing their mail. Funny thing about that is they kept their mailboxes and didn't resort to the P.O. Box like we did! Idiots!
Have a Great Week!
Angela
Well aren't you handy?! We need a new mailbox. We have one but it's really crudy ~ we live on an unpaved road and the red clay has turned it a disgusting color (supposed to be white). I'm wondering what color will camoflauge the dirt?
