Couple Things

I forgot to mention yesterday,
where the movie quote from Monday's post came from.
Clint was correct, it was from the movie Vanilla Sky
with Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz.

Another line from the movie I liked is:
"Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around."
(The movie is pretty weird though - just sayin')

I also wanted to share this video with you that I  borrowed from a facebook friend
who also has this website - Planter Tomato.
The chicken water is a grand idea, but I am really awed by his chickens,
and the great presentation, and making of, the video.

For any of you who raise goats,
you might want to look at today's post from Charlotte's Menagerie.
She had a close call with one of her Nigerian Dwarf goats
and I learned something I didn't know.

This is why I love blogging so much.

Lastly, have you tried drying tomatoes?
We tried this for the first time this year with some small tomatoes
we picked up at the farmers market.

We sprinked them with sea salt and dried basil before drying.
They are AWESOME.

I am so glad to have tried this and have a new way to preserve tomatoes.
We are going to have a bumper crop this year : )

Well, that's my randomness for today.
I hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend.
I am so excited for the upcoming days.
My daughter from New Mexico is, as we speak,
traveling to Cheyenne, WY to meet up with my second oldest daughter,
who will be traveling from Riverton, WY.
They will then head here.
My middle daughter from Lincoln will also be in
tomorrow night.
The twins start school on Friday
(sophomores this year - yikes!)
but we will all be together and be spending
the weekend in Yankton, SD for Riverboat Days.
We have a cabin rented just out of Yankton along the Missouri River.
Should be such fun to all be together.
I can't remember if we have ever gotten together,
just us girls, since the oldest two got married.
Anyway - that's where I will be.
I will catch up on all your wonderful blogs when I return.

Well I learned a lot today -

The tomatoes looked yummy.
And I love blogging for the same reason you do.

And why did I think all five girls lived at home? Only two do and they are sophomores? The others live away and two are married? Why didn't I know that?

And of yeah - have a FABULOUS time with the girls!

That chicken waterer is too funny and the goat post was interesting. I was told to not feed my goats grain when they are adults and only a tiny bit now. I may stop it already - they aren't too keen on alfalfa but they love orchard hay.

I never thought about drying tomatoes but that's a wonderful idea. I just wonder if you need to live somewhere sunny for it. Maybe Britain (where I live) is not ideal! :)
