Recognition

I have a mental impediment that disallows me to find any spelling or grammatical errors in my posts until after I click the orange tab and “PUBLISH POST”. This is a fact of life I have learned to live with.

It doesn’t matter how many times I proof-read my draft, I cannot see the errors until I open it up to the world. Then the errors are all but obvious to even a second-grader.

I follow a ritual, which goes something like this:

Click on PUBLISH POST, then immediately click on View Blog, then do a fleeting scan through the verbiage, find a half-dozen embarrassing errors, click the Edit tab as if I were setting a timer and get back in and make the corrections at lightning speed and click PUBLISH POST again.

I have gone through this ritual so many times I break my record speed each week.

But, alas there are much more competent bloggers than I out there. I stand in awe of one particular follower. Not only is this blogger a very talented photographer, nature lover and dog lover. But she is the most consistent blogger I have ever come to know. My day would not be complete if I hadn’t heard from her. She is a welcome constant in my world. Not only that, but she is a wiz on the computer. This blogger can open my post, read it, and post a positive comment faster than I can skim my own writing and correct my errors. She certainly deserves extra recognition for not even knowing it was a race.

So, today I would like to honor texwisgirl at Run-A-Round Ranch for being such a GREAT blogger and a person I consider a friend.

I am sure she must think I am dummer’n a stick, yet she never lets on that my writing is illegible and I should just stick to posting pictures. She always has a kind word and it’s always spelled correctly.

Won’t you join me in commending her on not only her fascinating blog, but for being such a great part of ours?

First of all, you are not alone in failing to catch any errors on your own blog. I'm afraid I do exactly what you do...same steps..the whole nine yards and am often embarrased by my oversites. But let me assure you, when I read YOUR blog I never see any errors. I am captivated by what you write, your story as a single Mom with five girls. I am always so excited when I see you have a new entry.

Onto the blog Run *A* Round Ranch..I also agree. I am one of her newest followers and agree with you 100%. She is an amazing, positive, joyful blogger.

You and she have both enriched my life. For that, I thank you both!

(Wondering how many errors I have above...haha)!

It's a blogging family. We follow each others day and are there for good times and in bad. I love my spell check button. Grammer? What's that?

I do the same thing.

And I will go check out her blog.

I have the same problem. All my mistakes only jump out at me AFTER I post :(. And YES, Theresa is a wonderful blogger and friend.

Oh, the secrets we have on in this blogging world! :) That was TOO funny; and don't you hate it when somebody beats you to fixing your mistakes...but I think it's okay if they're a friend. Friends can see our mistakes, and love us anyway; or maybe, partly, because we make them. :)

I think we all suffer from the post-editing bug. Things just don't show up, and honestly I used to never check until my husband's critical grandmother told him not to tell me but there were all sorts of spelling and gramatical errors on my blog (and of course he told me!). Rolled my eyes...and then started using spell check which I'd not know about before. Ok...off to check out your honoree's blog!
