I Might Be A Bad Mother

You know those "talks" we are supposed to eventually
have with our children?

Well, with farm kids, sometimes you just let them do the talking.
They will come up with an explanation on their own.

All you have to do is nod your head in agreement
or just walk away saying "uh huh".

Try not to chuckle, correct them, or get embarrassed.

My daughters called this "giving each other rides".

And this "being mean".

And this "a milk bag".

Sounds good to me.
(whew)

Ha!

I chuckled out loud while reading this post :)

My son and daughter recently noticed two frogs in the pond...

My kids: Aww, look mom, the mama frog is carrying her baby on her back.

Me: Uhmm...yep. Now, who wants to go inside and help me bake a cake?! I'll let you each lick the batter from the beaters!

(They saw this as a treat, because I never let them eat raw batter!) Geez, what you can come up with to get out of sticky situations with kids! :)

Thanks for the laugh!

Heehee. To funny. My 8 year old sister gets everything that goes on at the farm. From the goats, to the chickens, to the ducks. And she gets it all properly. I'm not sure my 14 year old brother gets its though.... No wait. He's a teenage boy, nevermind.

Hello...waving from CA! Just stopped by your blog because I was blog hopping (heard it was safer than bar hopping). Anyhow, my husband had some of his inner city teenage students over to our house and they were shocked that our chickens were "fighting". My 8 yr old daughter promptly informed them, "No, they are just mating. The one on top is a rooster." :)
