I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods. Better than any argument is to rise at dawn and pick dew-wet red berries in a cup. ~Wendell Berry

Found Out
Don't you hate it when your hens find out what happens to their eggs.
Yes, I really do use the old ones, hard boiled, as a protein source for chicks.
We rarely if ever have old eggs. I sell eggs where I work and everyone loves them. I feed my hens, leftovers. Meat, veggies, egg shells. Anything but chicken. They love everything.
We have done that, but most of the time we never have older eggs- they get used up so fast and we sell extras to friends and my husband's co-workers. Nosey hens.
No old eggs here. I sell my extra eggs to family/friends about once a month I take orders, drive up & they meet me... They love (& want) their farm fresh eggs. The I have people stop in to buy some here & there. We do eat alot of eggs here & then I sometimes bake alot! We eat quiche & egg salad alot. Thank goodness we all like eggs :)
I don't usually have old eggs as hubby has guys at work pushing and shoving ;) to buy our fresh eggs. However...I do boil up eggs for my chickens if it's the weekend and I have a lot of them. They love them!
