Alas,
Sisters Five Soap and Lotion Works
goat's milk soaps are cured
goat's milk soaps are cured
and ready for retail. Yea.
The first place I have listed my products is with
the Nebraska Food Coop. I just love this coop.
(My product list may still be pending review at the
time of this post, but I wanted to give you the link
if you wanted to check out the website).
I became a member in December 2007, buying and
selling through them for a year. They were very supportive
and I had very good sales each month.
I loved being a part of the coop The only
drawback for me at the time was there was no drop off
or pick up in my area and it meant driving or paying shipping
to get my products to Omaha and then driving again the
following week if I placed an order, to go pick it up.
I am so delighted that now they have pick up and drop off
in Norfolk and I can order all I like now.
There is an amazing list of products.
If you have a food coop in your state, I wholeheartedly
encourage you to join.
This is their mission statement:
Our Mission: To foster a local food community and promote a culture of stewardship by cultivating farmer-consumer relationships, promoting the enjoyment of healthful food, increasing food security through diversity, and enhancing overall rural sustainability.
We will also be displaying our products later this summer
at local farmers markets, along with veggies and herbs from our garden.
I would love be part of the Omaha Farmers Market -
but maybe down the road.
I am not willing to give up a whole Saturday just yet.
Our website is still in development.
I have three pages so far, but have to be
in a really creative mood when I work on it,
and that isn't just ordered up.
In the meantime, I would like to host the drawing for
a free bar of soap I promised I would do once the soaps were cured.
Here is all you need to do to be entered in the drawing:
Post a comment stating which soap you would choose if you were
one of the three lucky winners of a free 5 oz. bar of goat's milk soap.
The drawing will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011.
If you don't have a blog, please either email me or comment on
how I can contact you if you are a winner.
This is the list of soaps available to choose from:

Gingersnap w/ ground cinnamon

Oh, how FUN!! So many choices though! I think the coconut lime verbena sounds like it's nice, but really, they all do! CONGRATULATIONS on getting your business up and running!! HOORAY!!!
I can almost smell those soaps - and I think I'd like Cool Waters best.
Oh, I would love to try some goat milk soap. I just bought my first 4 milking goats and making soap is on my list of things to try. Vanilla anything is great with me. I do hope I win!
Yea. I am hoping to sell my soaps soon. Nice that you have the coop to help out. They all sound great, but just clean soap sounds the best.
I would love to try some of your soap. Coconut Lime Verbena would be my choice. They look really pretty and probably smell even better.
All the options sound amazing, but I would choose Lilac and Lavender w/ lavender leaves. We have Nigerian Goats and are hoping to milk them soon once they kid. So exciting! :)

Hi! I meant to tell you that over at Kelly's Korner tomorrow, she has a link up for "show us what you sell" or something like that. She gets a lot of traffic on her blog. I was hoping to have some of my etsy stuff in the shop, but, maybe one of these days I'll actually get something DONE to sell!!! Google Kelly's Korner blog or see the list of blogs I follow. It might be worth your time with your soaps. Can't throw away free advertising, right!? :)
I would love to try the tea tree oil.
I love goats milk soap it is so nice for the skin. I like your packaging. Good luck in the business. You have a fine product. B
Hi! I just found your blog this afternoon. The soap looks great! If I were so lucky, I would choose the Coconut Lime Verbena! :)
This is what we are working towards, too! I would chose--
Lilac and Lavender w/ lavender leaves--two of my favorite flowers.

great work on the soap! i'll be giving that a try some day.
I found you through Catherine Friend's blog, Farm Tales. Great stuff! We have been members of the Willy Street Co-op in Madison, WI for 15 years--it's a great gift to live close to a co-op. Your soaps look beautiful. I would have to choose lilac and lavender as lilacs are my absolute favorite flowers. I'll sign up to follow your blog! find my blog at dancingapronfarmer on blogspot.
Coconut Lime Verbena, hands down. I'd smell like a drink made with Malibu rum....
They all look lovely, however.
Good luck!
